JOIN THE ASSOCIATION

Join the women’s Fiction Festival Association. Our member year runs from January 1st to December 31st. The Association organizes the Women’s Fiction Festival, a writers’ conference and literary festival, held each year in September in Matera, Italy. The WFF is the only literary festival dedicated to women’s fiction in Europe, and sees best-selling writers from all over the world mingling with editors from some of the world’s best-known publishing houses and literary agents meeting in the beautiful city of the Sassi. Whether you are published or unpublished, it is a unique experience for any writer. The Festival includes:

  • The writers’ conference
  • Master Classes held by best- selling authors on aspects of fiction writing
  • Briefings for Thriller Writers – seminars held by crime experts for those writing mysteries and thrillers
  • Creative writing labs (creative writing, scriptwriting, short-story writing)
  • Translation competition (for students of a number of university courses in literary translation)
  • Competition for the best dissertation on French modern literature (reserved for Italian university students)
  • Events and readings with best-selling authors
  • The ‘La Baccante’ Literary Prize

Throughout the year, the Women’s Fiction Festival organizes book presentations, book signings, literary events with Italian and foreign authors representing a number of genres.

The Women’s Fiction Festival Association has established a ‘Lending Library’ in the Palazzo Lanfranchi Bookshop, the first English-language lending library in the south of Italy. More than 1,300 books in English are available for the reading pleasure of readers and tourists. Soon, the Women’s Fiction Festival Association will establish a ‘Bibliotheque Francaise’ – a French language lending library.

Anyone can join, whether Italian or not. Joining means being part of this dynamic cultural association and providing economic support for its programs.
