Now is the time to think of registering for the writer’s conference of the 10TH International Women’s Fiction Festival!
This year the entire focus of the conference is on the writer. Publishing is an $80 billion dollar business worldwide, resting exclusively on the writer—on her imagination and energy, on his creativity and invention. Without the writer, the entire publishing industry would be void—reduced to publishing blank pages and blank screens.

The 2013 writers’ conference of the International Women’s Fiction Festival is dedicated to the proposition that there has never been a better time to be a writer. The doors of opportunity are wide open. You can publish yourself, publish with an energetic small press, or publish with a major international publishing corporation. You choose, you are in control. All you need to do is write a great book. It all starts from that.

The International Women’s Fiction Festival writers’ conference is there to help you every step of the way, from inception to publication. If you are having problems plotting, there will be two afternoon sessions of Brainstorming conducted by international bestselling author Jane Corry. During the conference itself there will be numerous craft workshops on the art of writing, including seminars on the lessons drawn from screenwriting by James Dalessandro, noted screenwriter and author.

Agents nowadays do more than help you sell your book. They are more like business managers, allowing you focus on the writing while helping you make a living from your writing. Books nowadays are multi-media events, appearing in print and as ebooks, as audiobooks, published in translation, being optioned for TV and movie rights. Agents and writers work in tandem to insure a successful life for the writer’s creation. On hand to give a 360° view of author representation are: Kimberley Cameron of Kimberley Cameron and Associates (USA), Julia Churchill of AM Heath (UK), Deborah Grosvenor of Grosvenor Literary Agency, Peter Miller of PMA Literary and Film Management and Christine Witthohn of Book Cents Literary Agency.

Publishing houses are in a state of flux and open to new talent. On hand to talk about publishing are Anselm Aston of Atticabooks (UK), Michelle Fabio of Gemelli Press, Stephane Marsan of Bragelonne and Leah Thaxton of Faber (UK), Leah Thaxton of Faber (UK), Alessandra Bazardi of Harlequin Mondadori (Italia), Giulia De Biase of Sperling & Kupfer (Italia), Donatella Minuto of Giunti (Italia) e Jacopo De Michelis of Marsilio (Italia).

Agents and editors are, as always, accepting pitches in the afternoon during the Book Market.

But finding and agent and selling a book to a publisher is not the end of the journey. Much of the responsibility for finding readers rests on the shoulders of writers, whether they are self publishing, publishing with a small press or publishing with a major corporation. Nobody wants your book to succeed as much as you do, so promotion is part of your writing and publishing journey.

Shawn Nicholls, head of the marketing department of HarperCollins and Sebastien Moricard, head of marketing at Bragelonne, will be giving seminars on how to promote your books on both sides of the Atlantic. They will also be available for individual sessions at the Help Desk in the afternoon. If you want individual help in crafting a promotion plan for your books, book an appointment with experts.

You are going to find everything you need to write a fabulous book, sell it and promote it at the WFF Writers’ Conference. You will also make lifelong friends and have a fabulous time!
