Matera will be Cultural Capital of Europe in 2019. This year the 12th International Women's Fiction Festival will shine a spotlight on reading and writing as necessary elements for personal and social growth. Reading and writing are fun, educational, part of life. Books make the future open and accessible, they help us learn and better understand our world. Books help us safeguard and invigorate our cultural heritage.
The WFF will work together with the bookstores of the city: the Libreria dell'Arco, Mondadori, Di Giulio and The Sassi Bookstore under the aegis of Matera Letteratura. We will work together throughout the year with writers and reading groups on topics pertaining to the future. The program will be coming soon.
