This year the International Women's Fiction Festival is awarding its 'Baccante' prize to Amy Bratley, author of 'The Girls' Guide to Homemaking' , her first novel and an international hit. The Girls' Guide to Homemaking is a fresh new style of chick lit which has proved irresistible to millions of readers thanks to her literary recipe: mix together simplicity, a light style, sugar and spice and cooking tips handed down from generation to generation. Amy Bratley's story full of hope and dreams has graced international bestseller lists for months, making a major contribution to women's fiction throughout the world.
The 2012 Baccante will be awarded to Amy Bratley on Saturday, September 29, by Alessandra Bazardi, editorial director of Harlequin Mondadori. The prize will be awarded in the Casa Cava, starting from 8:30 pm.
Amy Bratley works as a freelance journalist and lives in Dorset with her husband and two children. Her second novel, 'The Saturday Supper Club', published by Pan McMillan, came out in May, 2012.
