Jane read English at university and then worked as a journalist for a wide range of English magazines and newspapers including The Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Daily Mail, The Daily Express, Woman, Woman's Own, Good Housekeeping and Woman & Home. She has also appeared on live breakfast television and radio nationwide, including Woman's Hour. Until recently, she was writer in residence of a high security prison as well as being a lecturer for the creative writing diploma at Oxford University.
Jane writes contemporary family comedies under the pen names Sophie King and Janey Fraser. As such, she has been published extensively in Europe. Her latest novel in the UK is Happy Families by Janey Fraser, published by Arrow in April 3013.
She also writes historical novels as Jane Corry and is published in Italy, Spain and Germany. Her latest novel in Italy is La donna Con l'anello di Rubini, published by Newton Compton.
In addition, Jane has written several non-fiction books including How To Write Your First Novel; How To Write Short Stories; and How To Write Your Life Story. Jane is also a best-selling short story writer in the UK and a past winner of the Elizabeth Goudge Award. Jane has recently been elected to the post of Royal Literary Fund Fellow at Exeter University.
