Writers, poets, singers and journalists meet to talk about their experiences, how they got started in their career, what it took and the hurdles they had to overcome. Join them as they discuss the power of the written word in all its creative forms - from songs, to news stories, from advertising slogans to poetry to novels, these talented authors and writers show how they unleash their creativity to turn words into art.

literary competition for high school students will be announced.

Women through history and the women who tell their stories - the timeliness of the historical novel

The historical novel is a hugely successful genre. These novels are beloved by readers all over the world for their depiction of women's lives through the ages and how women have left their imprint through the tumultuous epochs of the past down to the present.

New Voices in Translation Prize Together with Harlequin Mondadori and the Translation Department of a number of Italian Universities,
Karen Stoecker
will award the 'New Voices in Translation' Prize to the best translation of her story, 'Millionaires Don't Count'.

Awarding the 'LA BACCANTE' Literary Prize
The concluding ceremony of the 2005 Women's Fiction Festival. Laura Donnini, CEO of Harlequin Mondadori, the Festival's main sponsor, will award a literary prize to an author or publishing professional of international repute. This year, the Women's Fiction Festival is awarding this prize for Lifetime Achievement to Inge Feltrinelli, for her unswerving support of women's fiction in Italy and throughout the world, in acknowledgement of the leading role both she and her publishing house has played in the support and promotion of women's fiction over the past fifty years of publishing the finest works of literature.
