Maria Paola Romeo is 38 years old, lives in Milan and is married with three children. She worked for thirteen years for Harlequin Mondadori, a joint venture between Canadian-owned Harlequin Enterprises, the leading international publisher of women's fiction, and Arnoldo Mondadori Editore.
Since November of 2003, she has put her experience as an editor and editorial manager to good use in her new career as a free lance editor.
Her three years as editorial manager gave her great insight into market trends and book marketing, thanks to her involvement in the creation and launching of two new lines, Red Dress Ink and the Chiaroscuri line of romantic suspense.
She is currently a consulting editor for Harlequin Mondadori and editor of Red Dress Ink.
She works as a free lance editor, reader and translator from English and German for a number of women's fiction editors, such as Sonzogno and Sperling & Kupfer.
She has also been a speaker at several creative writing courses. Maria Paola Romeo is the co-creator of the Women's Fiction Festival, and is Vice-President of the Women's Fiction Festival Association.
